Welcome to Steve Rouse's TrainerBase Profile

Steve Rouse is now the New Project Lead within Bupa's Customer Service training operation and is no longer working as a freelance.

In 2006, he formed Learning in Practice Ltd as an innovative and creative company specialising in learning design and consultancy,  as well as the delivery of leadership, performance management,  and diversity & equality training.

Steve uses a combination of old and new approaches, such as blended learning, bite-size and just-in-time techniques, to bring a fresh and flexible approach to developing the capability of people in organisations, reflecting the complexity and uncertainty of the modern workplace. We recognise that the most important learning takes place in the real world – and work with your people to turn learning & development into a habit that continuously improves performance, rather than being an occasional break from the 'day job'.

Steve's focus is on designing bespoke solutions tailored to individual customer needs, rather than providing "off the shelf" products.  He's interested in getting his customers the results they need rather than expecting them to fit in with other people's preconceived ideas.

Steve has a background in central government, previously working as Head of Learning Design for the corporate centre of the Department for Work & Pensions.  Since then he has worked successfully across a wide range of sectors, with clients as diverse as the House of Commons, RBS Group, Stanley Casinos, M&S, Age Concern and Magnox North.
