The year has started with a bang on TrainerBase, which has reported the highest number of training opportunities posted in a single week.

The first week back after the festive season has seen a total of 17 Training opportunities posted on the TrainerBase web site. "The value of these opportunities ranges from the mid hundreds to the high thousand" commented Peter Mayes, Chief Executive of TrainerBase, the Association for Learning Practitioners.

And the prospects for the future are looking positive. Peter Mayes reported "We are in discussions with one client who is looking for us to source between 50 and 60 trainers before April using our Brokering Service". TrainerBase is expecting the value of opportunities sourced via the site to exceed £2 million; a positive prospect for its 600 members.

Prime Minister; Gordon Brown has been heard to comment that maintaining and developing skills are important during the current economic climate. Judging by the activity on TrainerBase, which has been helping business find trainers and trainers find business for over 7 years, the training sector appears to be holding up; As one member commented to Peter Mayes recently 'what recession'.
