Attendees were given a background into the robustness of this accreditation which has been specifically developed in order for TrainerBase, the Association for Learning Practitioners to recommend training providers to purchasers. The day included facilitated workshop into what constitutes appropriate evidence for the Personal, Operational and Commercial Principles AND an opportunity to be a learning participant in a Candidate's assessment.

The feedback from the attendees was exceedinly positive both about the Standard, the CLP process and what TrainerBase is doing with regards to raising the profile of training.

HRD 2008

TrainerBase, launched as the Association for Learning Practitioners attended the 3 day exhibition at ExCeL on the 15th - 17th April. Peter Mayes; Chief Executive of the Association declared at the end of the event that "this showcase has exceeded all our expectations." He went on "We were launching our Certified Learning Practitioner (CLP) accreditation and the level of interest from both learning practitioners and the purchasing community has been outstanding". The level of interest was such that even with up to 5 directors and members on the stand, at times visitors were willing to come back to speak to find out more. Heather Girling, fellow director of TrainerBase commented "We were so busy it certainly made the time fly by".

Other directors and members helping on the stand included Mike Morrison, Charlotte Mannion, Jooli Atkins, Ivan Mactaggart and Dominic Demolder.

Many visitors to the stand commented on the benefit of the CLP accreditation.
Purchasers of training, learning and development services saw it as a valuable 'assurance' of the competence of an independent and would shorten their recruitment cycles.
A number of visitors commented that they were soon to be made redundant and could see that the Standard for Learning Practitioners, on which the accreditation is built, was a valuable benchmark and aspirational model for their career development.
Training providers, many of whom are already members of the Association could see that the Standard was something to measure their competence by and that as a CLP, they would gain by being recommended by the Association to the growing number of purchasers using TrainerBase as the perfect place for trainers.
