TrainerBase, the trade association for freelance trainers, courseware developers and training advisers has appointed an additional director to the executive team.

TrainerBase is pleased to announce the appointment of a fourth director to the Association. Steve Rouse has accepted the invitation to join us as Technical & Research Director. As an Architect of the TrainerBase Standard and Certified Learning Practitioners (CLP) accreditation, inaugural member of the Professional Standards Committee, and CLP Assessor, Steve has already made a significant contribution to the development of TrainerBase as a trade association, bringing a sharp eye for detail and a wealth of experience across the learning & development sphere, especially around learning design.

Previously heading up the learning design function for the Department for Work & Pensions' corporate centre, Steve went freelance in 2006, forming his own company, Learning in Practice Ltd, and now works on both an associate and direct basis. Steve holds an MA in Management Learning & Leadership from Lancaster University and has previous experience as a director of companies limited by guarantee.

In his role as Technical & Research Director, Steve will take responsibility for the Standard/CLP and their development, as well as research to support professionalism within learning practice.
